Traditionally a Hawaiian modality focuses its efforts not only on relaxing the physical body but the energetic body. Therapists use long continuous, and rhythmic strokes, concentrating on encouraging the flow of energy through the body. The client can use a sheet, but a towel is preferred due to the full body nature of this type of massage.

In the full body Swedish massage, your therapist will usually start by massaging your back, then legs, feet, arms, hands neck and head. This is a light to medium pressured massage, ment to be relaxing and calming.

There is no standard method to a deep tissue massage and all therapists have different styles that should be tailored to the client's individual needs. The goal of a deep tissue is to target the deeper muscles and connective tissue to release tension build -up and reducing inflamation, increasing your flexibility and reducing pain. It is a good option for someone with a decent tolerance for heavy pressure. You will feel soreness that may last a few days after a deep tissue massage. This is normal. But you should never have pain. This is a full body massage.
